blogging a – z challenge – “q”

Q

OK, I’m really struggling with a Q topic. So I’m going to go a different route for today.

Do you have any questions for me? About my life, my experiences with grief; about child loss, or about Kade?

  1. I found your blog via your comment on mine ^^ I think this is a wonderful way to honor Kade’s memory, and I have enjoyed browsing your memories of him. I am new here, so maybe you have addressed this, but my question for you is: What is your favorite memory with Kade? Thank you for sharing!

    • Thanks for checking out my blog. What a great question! It would be too hard to choose one favorite memory in his nineteen years, but here’s one that immediately came to mind:
I remember his first cracking up, full-out, laugh as a baby. We lived in an apartment above a ranch house. We outside, sitting in the grass, playing with new little kittens near the barn. One of the kittens sneezed. Kade CRACKED UP at that! It startled him, and made him laugh a full belly laugh. Of course it made me laugh, too. He had a great laugh his whole life. Thanks for bringing me back to that happy memory.

      • A baby’s laugh is so full of joy and is always contagious. And a kitten sneezing? What an adorable scene. Thank you for sharing your memory with me!

  2. Yes, I need a few words of advice… I’m a prayer minister and have been asked to minister to a family in a local hospital tomorrow. The young daughter has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. They have given her 2 weeks to live. I will meet to pray over her, but am nervous…

    • Oh my goodness. The only thing I can think of is perhaps asking them what they would like you to pray? You are such a compassionate person and good listener naturally I think you’ll do great. Just *being there* is huge. You don’t need to feel as if you have to say anything that will make it better because there are no words. Here’s a good link for helping grieving parents (which might be different than the family who hasn’t yet lost their precious daughter)…but might still be a good starting point.
